Our mission is to contribute to green and sustainable soil management with our technological solutions

Let’s make soil healthy again

LUMO is an experimental, state-of-the-art sewage sludge treatment line developed by “AGRODAR” LLC. It is also an innovative, circular technology for sustainable soil management.

The key feature of LUMO is that the technology transforms hazardous waste from treatment facilities into safe fermented organic-mineral soil with high added value.
None of the existing methods removes hazardous elements (such as pathogenic bacteria and helminths and their eggs) or reduces heavy metals in sewage sludge as effectively as the proposed technology.

The initiators of the project are Oleksiy Satov and Sergiy Shcherbakov, who are co-authors of the patent.

PROBLEM:

Threat to soil and groundwater because of toxic chemicals, heavy metals and pathogens in sewage sludge

  • Each settlement in Ukraine generates up to 250 kg of sewage sludge per inhabitant annually

  • About 40 million tons of sewage sludge is produced in Ukraine annually

  • The need for sludge fields for their placement is 120 ha/year in Ukraine

  • EU generated from10 to 12 million tonnes of wastewater sludge annually.

  • Around 60% of soils in the EU are unhealthy mainly because of unsustainable soil management practices (A Soil Deal for Europe)

SOLUTION:

  • 100 % destruction of pathogenic microflora, helminths and helminths eggs previously contained in sludge

  • Low level of heavy metals

  • Deeply mineralized recycled soil without hazardous elements

  • Unpleasant odor is eliminated

  • Eliminating the source of pollution (sewage sludge) and releasing land occupied by sludge fields

Sludge processing into a purified soil

TECHNOLOGY:

Sewage sludge treatment line

• It reproduces the process occurring in the nature accelerated by 250-300 times

• Environmentally friendly technologies based on applying of enzyme and controlled cavitation

• The treatment process type is aerobic

• Pathogenic microorganisms are destroyed, while useful aerobes remain intact

• Deep oxygen saturation of 18-20 mg per liter

• No chemical reagents are required

• All, that sludge treatment line consumes is electricity
